As a result of a generous donation by Victor Elmaleh, National Champion Preston Quick will start at U.S. SQUASH this June as the Director of Squash Doubles. Quick’s responsibilities will include supporting current programs such as the dozens of sanctioned tournaments nationally, coordinating the weekly rankings for the US, Canada and North America, and managing the portfolio of National Championships and professional tournaments supported by U.S. SQUASH.
New initiatives and program enhancements will be explored and may include ensuring the Intercollegiate Squash Doubles Championships continues as an event and expands to include women’s teams, encouraging additional tournaments focused on attracting players in their 20’s and 30’s, supporting the development of additional junior doubles tournaments in the fall and spring of each season, initiating and supporting city-wide doubles leagues nationally using the New York and Philadelphia area leagues as a model, and marketing squash doubles to current and planned squash facilities.
